Start the new term on the right foot!

Homemade cereal bars are an ideal and healthy snack. They’re easy to carry and will fit snugly into your bag or pocket, for the perfect snack throughout the day. Made with different high-quality raw products, they will contribute to your fibre, magnesium, potassium and omega-3 requirements in particular.

These cereal bars are high in energy and contain around 230kcal per bar, of which 1/3 are quick-release sugars.

Reasonably speaking, you should not eat more than one bar per day.

A large glass of water or a non-sugary hot/cold drink will make the fibres swell to limit sugar absorption. Given that they are not baked, the cereal bars retain the benefits stemming from omega-3 oils. Dried fruits are a gold mine of vitamins and minerals with multi anti-stress, anti-ageing and cardioprotective qualities.

These cereal bars adapt perfectly to fit around your different meals: breakfast on the run, a pick-me-up at work or a shot of energy when doing sport.

Just 15 minutes of preparation and 30 minutes in the freezer, and your bars are ready!

This recipe requires no baking and contains no added fat, you just need to mix flakes of cereal, grains, dried and oleaginous fruit and a sugar binder.

For 10 cereal bars:

Knowing that you can mix up cereal bars in many ways depending on your tastes and food tolerances, you can customise your own using some of the basic ingredients below:

-       100g of flaked cereal: rice, oats, wheat...

-       50g of grains: linseed, poppy seeds, sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds, chia seeds, aniseed, sunflower seeds...

-       50g of dried fruit: prunes, cranberries, raisins, strawberries, mango...

-       150g of oleaginous fruits, nuts, coconut, hazelnut, almond, peanuts...

-       150g of sugar binder: honey, agave syrup, maple syrup...

To make your cereal bars, you need a 20cm square silicone mould + a mixer + a mixing bowl + a wooden spoon.

And that's it! Just follow these 3 steps and give the cereal bars 30 minutes in the freezer before you tuck into them:

1. Start by blending your cereals, grains and half of the oleaginous fruits.

Blending allows the omega-3 oils in the grains to be released.

2. Then, pour the mixture into a mixing bowl and add the sugar binder, the other half of the oleaginous fruits and the dried fruits.

3. After mixing well, flatten it into the mould and leave it in the freezer for 30 mins.

A quick and easy recipe, ideal for little ones and adults alike!

Bon appétit!
